NJ.com is reporting that "dozens of strays and surrendered pets from the hurricane-ravaged Carolinas are headed up to New Jersey."  These are animals that were already in shelters in North and South Carolina prior to Hurricane Florence and not pets that were displaced during the storm.

The dogs and cats should be available for adoption at several area shelters that are members of the Emergency Replacement Partner Program of the Humane Society of the United States.  Those shelters include the Monmouth SPCA Shelter in Eatontown, the Animal Welfare Association of Camden County in Voorhees, and the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter in Bridgewater.  Please check with individual shelters to see if they have or will be receiving any of these pets.
