A run that's big on fun and encourages shopping after is almost something unheard of, but it exists. If you're interested you can register for the 5th Annual Rudolph Run happening on Saturday, December 8th. It's not a competitive race, but it's a festive fun 3-mile run along the Manayunk Canal.

According to the event page, check in for the run will be at the Philadelphia Runner Manayunk shop on Main Street starting at 8:15am and the run will begin at 9am. Instead of the normal entry fee they will be collecting canned goods and other necessities as donations/entry fee.

To keep the run entertaining they encourage all participants to dress up in holiday attire. You can wear reindeer antlers, red noses, ugly Christmas sweaters, or whatever you have that fits the theme. People around town will hear you and the other runners coming because the Manayunk Development Corporation will be giving out jingle bells along with red noses.

When the run is done, you're invited to join all the runners for a cup of hot chocolate and other treats. Also all run participants will get special deals in Manayunk for the day. Just be on the lookout around town for the "Reindeer Stop" signs. I found a list of the participating stops on Manayunk.com:
