If you’ve been on Roosevelt Blvd or in the area of Philadelphia tonight, you’ve likely noticed that traffic has been severely backed up for hours.

Multiple outlets (including NBC 10 and 6ABC) are reporting that the Southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Blvd were severely backed up in the area of I-76 around 4 pm after a car fire sent a large plume of black smoke into the area.

The car was towed away around 5:30 pm, but as of 6 pm, traffic in the area was still severely backed up.

The ramps to I-76 east and west are both backed up for several miles as well.

No injuries were reported in the accident, but the investigation into the cause of the fire remains.

Traffic maps in the area are showing delays on both Roosevelt Blvd southbound and I-95 southbound, as of 6:00 pm on Thursday.

Good luck if you're stuck in the slow traffic tonight.
