Do you remember a few months ago, when a New Jersey High school wrestler was forced to cut off his dreads during a match? How can anyone forget? The video made national news and sparked debates abut racism all over the country.

Well his name is Andrew Johnson, and he has been such a warrior through this entire situation. He has proven to not have let that circumstance define him. Johnson just placed 3rd his district which means he is now eligible for  the prestigious regional championships. He is one step close to making the New Jersey Tourney!!

According to TMZ, Johnson secured 3rd place at the NJSIAA/Rothman Orthopaedics District 29 tournament in New Jersey over the weekend in the 120-pound division.

When N.J.com asked how he did it, he said  "I tried to block everything out and just wrestle."

And that's exactly what he did. Congrats Andrew! All of New Jersey is rooting for you!
