Kim Kardashian has made a very public apology for appearing to make light of anorexia during some recent downtime with her sisters.

In July, and while hanging out backstage at City of Hope’s charity poker tournament in Los Angeles, Kim's sisters Khloe and Kendall seemed to be hung up on the star's smaller appearance, calling her "so skinny" and "anorexic." But Kim, who voiced flattery at the labels, is the one who took a majority of the flak, and in a new interview with Ashley Graham's "Pretty Big Deal" podcast, Kim said she should have known better.

“Looking back and having said that, I 100 percent understand why people would feel that way," she said. "So my intention is never to offend anyone and I really, you know, apologize if I offended anyone. Because an eating disorder is…I know people that have serious eating disorders that have been in and out of the hospital for 15 years — close people. So I’ve like, been through…I have experienced it enough to have, like, known better."

Kim added that she thought she was simply being silly with her sisters, but she has since considered that viewers may not have seen approach as respectful.

“You know, sometimes when you’re…you know I was, like, with my sisters and we were laughing and joking and it’s loud and you are, you know, I dunno, I guess, sometimes you can get, like, carried away and just, it was insensitive, you know, and it definitely wasn’t my intention though,” she said. “And I think, especially my fans and everyone that was watching was supportive, like, ‘Okay, look, like, maybe you guys shouldn’t have said that but I know what you were saying.’"
