Learn The History About The Famous Rocky Steps & Statue In Philly

When you think of Philly, a majority of people think of two things: cheesesteaks and Rocky. I have so many friends who have taken pictures by the famous Rocky Statue and ran up the "Rocky Steps" while singing "Eye of the Tiger" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

I just read on PhillyVoice.com that there now is going to be a free event around the iconic statue and steps. It's happening on August 7th and the event is called The Rise of the Rocky Steps Discussion. They'll have special guests speakers taking you behind the scenes to learn more about the history around the famous statue and steps, like the Rocky Statue sculptor, A. Thomas Schomberg. After the discussion, there will another free event to attend: a free screening of "Before Hollywood: Philadelphia and the Birth of the Movies" at Sister Cities Park.
