We don't know much at this point, but we're hearing reports that Mac Miller has passed away after an apparent overdose.

TMZ was the first to report the news that the rapper was found dead in his California home on Friday (September 7).

Miller has reportedly had issues with substance abuse following his breakup with Ariana Grande earlier this year. Miller was charged with a DUI after crashing his car into a pole in Los Angeles back in May of this year.

Grande issued a statement at the time expressing her concern and support for Miller and his sobriety.

Miller, whose real name was Malcom James McCormick, had just released his sixth studio album (titled Swimming) back in August. He was scheduled to tour later this fall.

His family issued a statement that called Mac a "bright light in this world for his family, friends, and fans."

"Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time," the family wrote on Friday.
