Most people might assume the best Philly cheesesteak is located in the city of brotherly love, but one cheesesteak expert says the best one can be found right here in New Jersey.

According to Bucks County Local News, Jim Pappas of Delaware has eaten over 275 cheesesteaks this past year. Jim is determined to become the most knowledgeable cheesesteak connoisseur.

Pappas mentioned Bucks Local News that he began this mission after he divorced his wife after 25 years. In what some would call a “mid-life crisis,” Pappas quit his job in the finance industry and became a driver for both Uber and Lyft, according to Bucks Local News. After some inspiration from his rideshare passengers and friends, he decided to create a website and Youtube entirely dedicated to cheesesteak reviews and commentary.

Pappas is not an easy critic; Bucks Local News says that he only writes about restaurants he finds to be “objectively delicious.” He recently deemed Meatheadz in Lawrence, NJ to be the best cheesesteak in the entire region. Not just the best in New Jersey, but the best in the surrounding area including Philadelphia.

Here at 94.5 PST, we are excited to hear that a local sandwich shop received such rave reviews, but remain skeptics of Pappas opinion. Intern Lily, is partial to Dalessandro's Steaks in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia. Intern Julia’s first thought when she thinks of a good cheesesteak is Midway on the boardwalk at Seaside Heights. Intern Jeremy thinks his mom’s cheesesteaks are the best.  EeE’s personal favorite is Jim’s Steaks on South Street.
