Owner of Popular Candy Company Files for Bankruptcy

James Candy Co is a 138 year old candy company that you've probably seen on many boardwalks in Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood and Cape May. at the Jersey Shore. The Glaser family, who own the company, have filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. The family blames declining sales, mostly because of less boardwalk traffic than there used to be. The company said they will definitely be around this holiday season and after. The good news is, the chapter 11 bankruptcy will help them bounce back and become more profitable.

James Candy Co makes so many amazing treats from chocolate to salt water taffy, even cookies and other treats. Fralinger's Salt Water Taffy is the candy I remember eating the most as a kid walking on the boardwalk with my grandparents. The owners seem very confident that this move was the best for their 138 year old company. Even though, they filed for bankruptcy. they will continue to pay their employees and their vendors and suppliers.
