Popular Pizza Shop in Lawrence Suddenly Closes

Popular local eatery, Candela Pizza & Restaurant, located on Lawn Park Avenue in Lawrence Township, Mercer County, closed without warning January 31st.

Area residents were surprised and saddened by the news, and are hoping it's not for good. Unfortunately, moving trucks spotted taking out equipment last week so that's not a good sign.

Many Lawrence residents took to the community Facebook page to ask questions, share their confusion, and well wishes to the Candela family.

Owner Pete Candela responded first on January 31st by saying that Candelas was closed for a private matter and hoped to reopen soon.

On Saturday (February 9th) Candela posted an update saying that the family is OK. In short, he said they were working on their finances, and thanked everyone for their support. Pete vowed to reopen again.

That's great to hear because their meatball pizza is the best around, right?
