I think we've all had a dream that we've won the lottery, we quit our jobs the next day and we move to a state that's warm all year round instead of freezing our butts off in Jersey. It's everyone's dream, but for some people, it can turn into a nightmare. Most of the time when someone wins the lottery, people come out of the woodwork and want a piece of the pie. There have been countless stories where long lost family members have contacted lottery winners and either make up stories to get some of their money or want to become closer and somehow manipulate them into giving them some money. It's truly sad. Some stories have even ended in murder.

According to NJ.com, NJ lawmakers want to protect lottery winners from the lottery curses and soon may pass a law that won't make it mandatory for lottery winners to come forward. There are only a few states in the U.S. allow lottery winners to remain anonymous and if the bill that was given to the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism & Historic Preservation is passed, New Jersey Lottery winners can stay anonymous FOREVER! That means that only the winner and some lottery officials would know that person has just become a millionaire!

Lawmakers are a little concerned that lottery sales will decline because if lottery winners remain anonymous, they fear the excitement of it may be gone. However, they say that if the winners want the excitement, they can still have it. Only time will tell if the law is passed. Then my REAL dreams will come true and all I have to do is ACTUALLY win the lottery, then I'll be a secret millionaire!
