The Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) has just announced a partnership with 1776, a business incubator company with a mission to help entrepreneurs to launch and scale their companies. The company will occupy an 11,000 square foot area in the Cherry Hill Mall this November.

"As the line between traditional retail and e-commerce continues to blur, we recognized the tremendous opportunity to partner with PREIT and bring together entrepreneurs and companies in a flexible environment while supporting creative collaboration across the industry," writes Jennifer Mager, CEO of 1776.

1776 will focus on electronic-commerce initiatives and will provide programming to entrepreneurs in hopes of redeveloping the traditional mall model. With the decline of New Jersey Malls like the Burlington Center Mall due to an increase in online shopping, 1776 will provide a strategy for growth, with ideas that include more space for entertainment and dinning. Philadelphia and South Jersey shoppers: stay on the look out for some exciting changes at The Cherry Hill Mall this winter!
