A popular Friendly's location could be closing their doors soon, but this time it's not because of poor sales. It could be closing to make room for a new bank.

I used to always visit Friendly’s with my family and especially my grandmother when I was a child. We used to always go for ice cream and ti was one of those childhood memories that I will always remember and cherish. Since my childhood, Friendly's Restaurants are hard to come by, so hearing that yet another may be closing and actually demolished is pretty sad.

Chase is reportedly looking to expand their coverage in South Jersey. In fact, they're reportedly looking to build ten new branches in the area this year.

A proposal has been submitted to the Mount Laurel planning board for them to possibly take over the site of the Friendly's restaurant.

Friendly's representatives told The Courier Post that there are no plans to close the restaurant "at this time."

Of course, they previously closed a location on Route 70 in Cherry Hill this past September.

A hearing is expecting to be held by the planning board on January 10.
