Trader Joe's may be opening in Freehold Township, according to The Patch.

A spokesperson for Trader Joe's, Kenya Friend-Daniel, confirmed the news, saying, "We're early in the process,"  and are taking all the necessary steps to bring the store to that area.

It seems as if it would be in the old Walgreens Pharmacy location, in the Pond Road Plaza, on bustling Route 9. The Freehold Township Planning Board has an application for an unknown grocery store for that spot. But, the Asbury Park Press revealed that the plans have the same type of sign font as Trader Joe's. Sneaky. Lol.

If it turns out to be true, this would be the third Trader Joe's store in the Monmouth/Ocean County area. There's one in Brick Township (Brick Plaza) and another in Shrewsbury.

I love the Trader Joe's in West Windsor (near Lowes) on Route 1. Didn't they just bring back the Two Buck Chuck? I always thought they should put one in the old Marrazzo's Grocery Store in Robbinsville, right?

I'll keep you posted.
