If you sat in delays on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County this morning, the delays were caused by a serious fire involved a car carrier.

94.5 PST traffic reported that the incident happened around 6:15 am this morning. 6 ABC reports that the car carrier and at least three vehicles caught fire in the incident, which snarled traffic in the southbound lanes for hours.

The fire started on the New Jersey Turnpike at Route 206 in Bordentown.

The right lane in the outer roadway remains closed this morning as officials work to clean up the scene. In fact, officials aren't expected to re-open all lanes until around 11 am this morning (Monday, January 6).

This is a developing story. We'll have more details when they're available.
