Today marks 17 years since the attacks of September 11 changed our nation forever. For many of us the day marks an opportunity for peaceful and quiet reflection on the lives that were tragically lost.

We've collected a list of events and locations in our area where you will be able to reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

9/11 Memorial at Mercer County Park

The memorial features a weathered steel fragment from the World Trade Center set against an unfinished concrete wall. It will serve as a venue for peaceful reflection today (and throughout the year). Click here for directions to Mercer County Park.

Hamilton Township's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Hamilton Township will mark the anniversary of September 11th with its annual remembrance ceremony at noon today. It will take place at the September 11 Memorial Grove inside the Klockner Road Entrance of Veterans Park.

Due to anticipated crowds and limited seating capacity, attendees are encouraged to arrive early or to bring lawn chairs.

In the event that inclement weather on September 11th causes the formal ceremony to be cancelled, a wreath will be placed at the Memorial Grove as soon as weather permits.

Pennsylvania's Garden of Reflection

Located in Bucks County, the Garden of Reflection is the official Pennsylvania memorial to the September 11 attacks. The Garden of Reflection will be open all day to allow reflection.
Additionally, they will hold a candlelight vigil at 8 pm to remember the victims of the attacks.

Mercer County Community College's Ceremony
Mercer County Community College (MCCC) and the County of Mercer will host a ceremony at 11 am today on their West Windsor campus (adjacent to the Student Center in the quad). In the event of inclement weather, it will be held in the Student Center.

A special tribute will be paid to the 30 Mercer County residents who died in the attacks.

Princeton's Patriot Day Ceremony
The community of Princeton will hold a 9/11 Patriot's Day remembrance ceremony this morning at the Princeton fire station. The event, which begins at 7:30 am, will include a 5-5-5 bell ceremony and a moment of silence.

Rowan College's 9/11 Memorial Service
The college community will join together in Burlington County to remember the victims of the September 11 attacks at 12:30 pm today.

The hour-long event will take place in the Votta Hall auditorium on the Mount Laurel Campus. All are welcome to attend to share in the video tribute and readings from RCBC staff and guests in remembering the events on 9/11.
