Is New Jersey As Generous As We Think?

Based on our life experiences here in the Garden State, we would expect to have a high ranking on a national scale for generosity.

A recent study, however, places New Jersey near the bottom of the list of American states for our generosity, or apparent lack of generosity.

It's hard to believe, but New Jersey ranks in the bottom 10 for generosity in the nation, and that is very disappointing.

Which States Are Less Generous Than New Jersey?

The least generous state in America, according to Forbes Advisor, is Florida, which got a 0.0 generosity rating (out of 100). Don't a lot of New Jersey residents retire to New Jersey? We're sensing a pattern.

The ranking for the Garden State is 27.98 out of 100, and that earned us the spot as the 10th least generous state in America.

The only other states that are less generous than New Jersey are Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico,  Hawaii, Georgia, Nevada, California, and Alabama.

The most generous state in America is Iowa which received a perfect 100 out of 100 in the study.
