'Two Great Souls': Couple Remembered After Fatal Crash

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help with the funeral expenses of Alice Stilwell.

Stillwell, 67, and her longtime boyfriend, Bob Barr, 54, were killed when four teenagers joyriding in a stolen car left their lane and crashed into the Hyundai carrying Barr and Stilwell, according to court documents released on Monday.

The fundraiser, started by family friend Nicole Wright, will help Stilwell’s daughters, April Vanaman, Crystal Morales, Alice Stilwell, and Jennie Stilwell Belmonte, with funeral expenses and other costs incurred at this difficult time.

This unimaginable tragedy has left their family in deep grief, and the shock of how suddenly it happened has made this painful time even harder to bear.

Her daughters and their families are now doing their best to honor their mother (grandmother) while carrying the emotional and practical burdens that come with such a devastating loss.

The GoFundMe had raised close to $5000 of its $22,000 goal by Monday afternoon.

Saturday's Horrific Crash

The crash happened at Route 50 and Third Street around 7:52 am Saturday, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The investigation determined the driver of the stolen vehicle was at fault.

Photos and surveillance footage shared online show the stolen vehicle was a Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, commonly known as a G-Wagon.

Nayshaun Brown, 18, of Atlantic City, and three minors in the stolen Mercedes have been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury while joyriding, theft of the vehicle, and related charges.

Court documents released on Monday say that Brown was already facing two other alleged car theft cases. Authorities also say they found marijuana in the stolen vehicle.

Owner of Hair Salon Remembers Alice Stilwell

On Monday, Robert Scheck, the owner of Hair We Are salon in Harbor Village in Egg Harbor Township, fondly remembered Alice Stilwell, his friend and longtime employee, and Bob Barr in a Facebook post.

Alice was a part of the Hair We Are family for almost 15 years. She was one of the hardest workers, a true friend, and a phenomenal hairdresser.
She was one of the first hairdressers to take a chance on me and come with me after we both left the Shore Mall salon and I started Hair We Are.

Over time, she became my right-hand woman and someone who always had my back. Alice loved doing crafts and going to craft shows. She also truly loved her boyfriend, Bob.
Bob was a bus driver for EHT, and together they were loved by so many throughout the community.

Two great souls taken far too soon by unbelievable circumstances. May God welcome them with open arms, and may justice be served. We will miss you Alice and Bob. The shop won’t be the same without you.
