Two Kearny dog owners are facing charges including animal cruelty after a loose pitbull attacked a Yorkshire terrier on Elm Street on March 18, cops say.
Leiner Miranda Lopez has been a fugitive since February when Cesar Santana was arrested. Both men are accused of killing the Jersey City mother, burying her in Kearny.
The killing of Luz Hernandez was being investigated as a domestic violence case, the Hudson County prosecutor said. A second Jersey City man was still a fugitive in connection with the victim's burial.
Days after the discovery of the 33-year-old victim in a shallow grave in Kearny, the prosecutor announced an arrest was made in connection with the homicide investigation, while a second man was being sought.
Luz Hernandez, 33, of Jersey City, was reported missing on Monday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Separately, a man was charged with murder in a 24-year-old woman's stabbing death in West New York.
