BRISTOL TOWNSHIP — Two people were killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday afternoon in which one of the drivers fled the scene and stole a dump truck, according to report.

Bristol Township police told CBS Philadelphia their preliminary investigation determined a Ford Explorer headed east on Ford Road around 1:30 p.m. struck a Nissan Sentra making a left turn from Ford Road onto Veterans Highway (Route 413).  Video of the crash scene shows the Ford was heavily damaged in the front.

Two passengers in the Sentra were pronounced dead at the scene. The Sentra driver and another passenger were taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Police said the driver of the Ford took off on foot.

Unusual escape

According to a report by LevittownNow.com the driver of the Ford stole a dump truck which overturned in a second crash near Old Rodgers and Wharton roads. The driver was taken into custody following.

Bristol Township police on Sunday morning did not respond to PALivingNews.com's request for more information.
