And if you've been around the state for a few summers, you know that there are dozens of roads and areas we need to avoid when summer descends upon us.

No one knows the situation better than the New Jersey drivers who deal with this phenomenon every summer.
So, we asked you to name the road you avoid the most in New Jersey during the summer, but we eliminated the most obvious answer, the Garden State Parkway.
That would almost certainly be the top answer for just about all of us. But what are the other roads you always avoid in the summer?

That's exactly what we asked in a recent poll and the results are now in. Here are the three non-Parkway New Jersey roads you said should be avoided at all costs.
There are certainly more, but this is a good start.
#3 Route 70. Route 70 is a road that can be a tough one in the middle of the winter. Add the summer traffic, and it can be a complete nightmare.
#2 Route 72. It is the only way to get to beloved Long Beach Island. and it can be one of the most frustrating summer roads in the state.
#1 Route 36, Whether it's Long Branch Sandy Hook, or any of the other spots Route 36 takes you to, if you don't have to use it in the summer, find another way.
