HATFIELD, Pa. — A woman died following a two vehicle crash on Route 309 early Saturday afternoon.

Hatfield police said a blue Hyundai Accent sedan being driven by a 40-year-old man struck a maroon Hyundai Tucson SUV being driven by a 71-year-old woman around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Unionville Pike.

The two drivers were taken to Grand View Hospital Trauma Center for treatment of their injuries where the woman was later pronounced dead.

Call for witnesses

Photos of the crash post by NorthPennNow.com show heavy damage to the front ends of both vehicles with air bag deployment.

Both directions of Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) were closed for several hours.

The circumstances of the crash or the identities of the drivers were not disclosed.

Police asked anyone with information about the crash or was a witness to call he Hatfield Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit at 215-855-0903
