New Jersey Residents Name The State’s Favorite Team In A New Poll

So many of us in New Jersey love sports, but what is New Jersey's #1 team? I asked Garden State residents, and got the answer.

We asked a simple question on social media. Fill in this blank "New Jersey's favorite sports team is_____". We allowed voters to pick any sport, but only one team could be chosen.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm a Mets, Giants, Devils, and Knicks fan. I thought I would tell you that, since I'm the one counting the votes. But I promise, I'm an honest guy, and I'll count and report the votes fairly.

Before seeing any votes, I thought this would be a two-team battle between the New York Yankees and the Knicks, especially with the recent success of both teams.

I guess that the top team will be determined by the region of the state where the most voters live in.  North Jersey favors the Yanks and Knicks, and South Jersey favors the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. I guess my Mets are out of luck.

#2 New York Knicks - When you make the NBA Finals, you find you get a lot more fans very quickly.

#1 New York Yankees - There wasn't much doubt in my mind that the millions of New Jersey Yankees fans would take the Bombers over the top.

Whichever team you root for, I hope you get a few victories this week or next season. It's not easy being any team's fan.
