If you are willing to take the plunge for a great cause, you are already a hero to us, so we want to give you as much information as possible.

Many of you have given a plunge a try at the Manasquan Valentine's Plunge, and maybe you're thinking about participating in the Seaside Polar Bear Plunge on February 24th.

Here are just some of the great tips they say to remember when preparing for your big plunge.

They say to wear a plunging suit under your clothes so that you don't have to deal with changing when you get there.

It's also a good idea to bring a looser pair of shoes to wear after the plunge. They'll be easier to get on and more comfortable.

And sometimes it's not just what we should do, but also what we shouldn't do, and the website offers those as well. and here are some of them.

Do not dive in. Remember, that's part of the rules. Also, do not feel compelled to dunk your whole body in the water.

Here's another pretty important one. Experienced plungers say that if it's your first plunge, don't be the first person in the water. This is to ensure that if you need to jump out, you're not in everyone else's way.
