The New Hulu Series ‘Ramy’ is Based in NJ

The brand new Hulu series 'Ramy' in based right here in New Jersey.

Of course the reason behind the shows location is because the comedian starring in the show, Ramy Youssef who plays Ramy Hassan, is a New Jerseyan.

Youssef basically plays himself with a few tweaks to the character of course. The whole series is based on being a Egyptian-American who is also Muslim and faces everyday cultural challenges in the New York - New Jersey area.

I'm not going to lie, I just watched the trailer and I'm impressed ... and I may just watch this series. And FYI, I am very picky when it comes to series. I legit only have like 3 series that I watch.

Any who I think it's really cool how they turn the historically strict Muslim culture and flip it into a millennial comedy. I'm sure it's super relatable to Muslim-Americans.

Ramy is a 10 episode half hour comedy is set to be released on Hulu platforms in April.
