Traffic is backing up in and out of Philadelphia on the Walt Whitman Bridge this afternoon as crews are cleaning up the remnants of a truck fire (the truck appeared to be a garbage truck).

No injuries were reported, according to NBC10, but PST traffic is reporting seriously delays in the area.

The fire reportedly occurred in the eastbound side of the road (towards the New Jersey side of the highway). The fire was first reported shortly after 5:00 pm on Monday evening:

In fact, as of 5:45 pm, both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway were affected as officials worked to clean up the scene. The eastbound (Jersey bound) side of the roadway appeared to be completely closed with just one lane getting by on the westbound (Philly bound) side of the highway.
It was not immediately clear when traffic would begin to move again on the highway:

As you can imagine, in the meantime, extra delays have been reported on the Ben Franklin Bridge tonight as well since motorists are likely using that bridge an alternate.
