Fireworks, Rides, & Entertainment Draw Huge Crowd for 14th Annual Freedom Festival
The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, which means Saturday was PST's 14th annual Freedom Festival at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ!
Despite the 90+ degree heat, the festival grounds were filled with people eager to experience the festival's rides, vendors, food, live music, drinks and various shows or attractions.
Before even entering the grounds, you could see the tops of the carnival rides like the ferris wheel or the Fireball. These rides only got more thrilling as the sun went down and their colorful lights went on. Seriously, do those lights not scream summer?
Upon actually entering the park, you immediately noticed the catchy music coming from the stage. Whether it was PST's DJ EeE or live music from Cherry Crush or The Jump Off, you were sure to sing (or dance) along. Not only was there great dancing, but also some fantastic hula hooping happening in front of the stage. This amused the crowd and the band alike!
Throughout the day, there was an array of different contests to participate in: a Weiner dog race, a demo of Amerikick martial arts, and a Delorenzo's pizza eating contest. You could also check out the Hot Rides Car and Truck show (including cars that lit up once the sun set) or watch the West Point US Army Jump Team parachute into the festival from a helicopter 3,500 feet in the air.
What Freedom Festival would be complete without fireworks? The gorgeous display started around 9:40 p.m. and dazzled the night sky.
If you weren't able to make it out, these photos don't do the day justice so you HAVE to check it out next year. See you then!
