Joel Embiid Helps The Philadelphia Community With $500k
Many athletes have donated a huge amount of money to pay some of the arena employees’ salaries. Now it seems like the Philadelphia 76ers player, Joel Embiid, is trying to help the Philadelphia community as well.
According to FOX29.com, some of the 76ers staff was being told that their pay was going to be cut by about 20%. We all know that getting a pay cut during these tough times is definitely not what anyone wants.
In a tweet posted by Ramona Shelburne from ESPN, she shared that Joel Embiid "has decided to pledge $500K to COVID-19 medical relief—to help survival and protection efforts in the community.”
It was also mentioned in the tweet that the Philadelphia 76ers player has committed to help to the team's staff members that are getting pay cuts.
