Different levels of protection have been warranted in the areas people still pass through in public. Air travel has been significantly diminished since the onset of the coronavirus. In the beginning light-hearted jokes about cheap flights were thrown around but eventually most personal travel was pushed off.

The fear of coming in contact with the virus and possibly spreading it to loved ones thankfully promoted less travel as well. Now as people are experiencing more and more cabin fever and questions of when quarantines will be lifted are being talked about by officials, extra travel precautions are more important than ever.

For those choosing to fly JetBlue, passengers will find that they are required to wear face coverings during their travel starting on May 4. This makes the first major U.S. airline to require such a precaution.

According to CNN, the airline’s statement was that this measure is meant to protect the individuals traveling as well as those around them.
