Do you have any old or outgrown bicycles laying around? It's time to do some spring cleaning and donate them. This Saturday (April 9th) is the Mercer County Annual Bike Drive, according to Mercer County's official website.

Mercer County and the Mercer County Park Commission have teamed up once again to collect donated bikes and give them to the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County's Bike Exchange in Capital Plaza Shopping Center, 1500 North Olden Avenue, Ewing. The shop, run by volunteers, then refurbishes the bikes and sells them at affordable prices to low-income families.

Since 2009, the Bike Exchange has sold over 17,000 bikes. Wow. The money raised from the sales of the bikes goes to the after school programs at the Boys and Girls Club.

If you'd like to buy a bike at the Bike Exchange, the hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm - 7:45pm, and Saturdays 10am - 3:45pm.

Bikes are needed. The Bike Drive is going on this Saturday from 12pm - 4pm, and taking place in a few different locations throughout Mercer County.

You can drop your bikes off at the Rangers Headquarters in Mercer County Park, West Windsor, The Historic Hunt House at 197 Blackwell Road in Pennington, the Tulpehaking Nature Center at 157 Westcott Avenue in Trenton, and the Mercer County Wildlife Center at 1748 River Road in Hopewell.

The 2021 Bike Drive collected hundreds of bikes.

It doesn't matter what kind of shape your bikes are in...donate them anyway...they can be fixed. Your donation is tax deductible, by the way.

The weather looks ok for this Saturday, but, if it rains, the rain date is Saturday, April 16th.
