If you happen to use the PA turnpike for your daily commute and don't have an EZ-Pass, don't panic if you don't see a toll attendant that normally takes your cash. PAturnpike.com released a press release stating that starting 8 pm on Monday, March 16 no cash or credit cards will be accepted to protect the health of the employees from the coronavirus.

For anyone that does not have an EZ-Pass, you should still use the "Ticket" lane when getting on the turnpike and "Cash" lane when you are exiting. It will be “Pay By Plate” so you will be sent an invoice of your toll fees.

It was also made clear on PATurnpike.com that all Pay By Plate invoices will be the regular fee. You will not be charged extra for not having an EZ-Pass.

PA Turnpike CEO, Mark Compton, mentioned in the press release, “I want to be clear that we will return to normal toll-collection operations as soon as it becomes practical.”
