Walmart Set to Hire 150,000 Workers Due to Coronavirus Pandemic
In the face of a very shaky job market, Walmart has announced it was currently trying to fill more than 150,000 jobs to meet a huge demand for consumer goods.
According to the Dallas News, the retail giant is preparing to offer testing for the Coronavirus in their parking lots and is in dire need for workers in their distribution hubs. The Arkansas based chain is doing more than adding to its workforce, executives with the world's largest retailer have reportedly set aside $550 million dollars for hourly workers who have been working much longer hours and brutal schedules trying to keep up with the demand for essential supplies like food, water, and toilet paper.
Walmart (in conjunction with drug store chain Walgreens) is also reportedly setting up tents in the parking lots of select stores for large scale Coronavirus testing as soon as this weekend. The first location to offer the testing will be in Chicago.
