According to patch.com, the maternity-clothing retailer, Destination Maternity, has plans that will significantly impact New Jersey.

Destination Maternity, which also includes Motherhood Maternity and Pea in the Pod stores, has corporate headquarters in Moorestown, NJ and a distribution center in Burlington, NJ.

Patch.com is reporting that as part of the Destination Maternity's Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the company will close 201 stores, including 4 in New Jersey.  And even worse news is the fact that at least 642 jobs will be cut in the aforementioned corporate office and distribution center.

An article on usatoday.com says that the New Jersey store closures will be in Bridgewater, Deptford, Elizabeth, and Shrewsbury.  In addition, 9 stores will close in Pennsylvania, including Destination Maternity and Motherhood Maternity Outlet stores in Philadelphia.

According to the company's website, Destination Maternity's first store opened in 1989 in Boston under the name Mothers Work.  Over the years, the company has partnered with several celebrities, including Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, and Jessica Simpson.
