Did You See A Military Plane Flying Low in the Center City Skyline This Morning?

During rush hour this morning (Friday, September 21st), many Philadelphia commuters noticed a loud rumbling from the skies on their walk into the office. Looking up in the sky, they found a C-17 Globemaster II military aircraft storming low through Center City.

If you were panicked at the site, rest assured, this was all a part of FOX29's Salute The Military Event.  This is their 10th year participating in the tradition which celebrates the service men and women of the country. The event aligns with the National POW/MIA Recognition Day 2018 which is recognized today.

FOX29 spent the morning celebrating outside of their studio on the 300 block of Market Street which was shut down. They encouraged veterans and their family members to share photos with the hashtag #FOX29Salutes.
