According to a post on Facebook, the Philly Pretzel Factory on High Street in Burlington is celebrating Nurses Week by supporting the nurses at the Masonic Village at Burlington Retirement Community & Nursing Home.

Nursingworld.org says that National Nurses Week takes place each year between May 6-12, "to recognize the contributions that nurses and nursing make to the community."

Honoring nurses is especially important this year due to the deadly Coronavirus pandemic. An article on burlingtoncountytimes.com notes that 76% of Coronavirus deaths in Burlington County are associated with long-term care facilities.

Philly Pretzel Factory in Burlington will donate $1 for every heart-shaped pretzel purchased and $5 for every baker's dozen of heart-shaped pretzels purchased.

In addition to helping out a great cause, heart-shaped pretzels make for a great gift for Mother's Day, which just happens to fall this Sunday (May 10).

Many moms will be forced to celebrate Mother's Day without their children due to social distancing.  (By the way, did you know that the woman who is credited with creating Mother's Day lived in Philadelphia?  And years after the date was designated as a national holiday, that same woman would end up hating it.  Read her story here.)

Philly Pretzel Factory in Burlington is located at 696 High Street and offers curbside pickup.  Orders can be placed by calling (609) 386-0345.
