The coronavirus pandemic has turned many people's world's upside down. Companies have been forced to lay off their employees, some businesses have even been forced to shut down for good because people are being ordered to stay home to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Families haven't seen each other in over a month and people in hospitals and nursing homes aren't allowed to have any visitors.

According to Community News, senior citizens in Hamilton can become pen pals with children from age 5 to age 18. Senior citizens who are interested just send and email to hamnjseniors@gmail.com, they the pick which age group of child they want to communicate with. Then a child will be chosen and matched with a senior and the communication begins. They can talk about all kinds of topics and seniors and kids who find themselves with a lot more free time on their hands will be giving each other something to do.

If you or any senior citizen you know is interested, you can get even more information here or by reaching out to Olivia Barthelson, who works at the senior center, at obarthelson@hamiltonnj.com.
