The “Click it or Ticket” enforcement campaign started back again on Monday (05/20) until June 2nd. 19 of the 21 counties in the state of New Jersey are participating while Salem and Warren County are not represented.

The states Division of Highway Traffic Safety said to NJ.com, “Not only are tickets issued to unbelted motorists, but the surrounding publicity ensures that people know they are more likely to get a ticket.” It is not the first time a tickets blitz happens in our area, last year law enforcement gave out over 19,600 seatbelt tickets. NJ.com reported that "it included 17 police departments issuing more than 150 seat belts summonses each.”

This campaign offers safety throughout the state as well as grants for each police department participating, the maximum grant being $5,500. NJ.com came out with a list, here are some cities participating for the maximum grant; East Windsor, Ewing, Hamilton, Hopewell, Lawrence, Trenton, Monroe, North Brunswick, Plainsboro, South Brunswick, Freehold, and Manalapan. Remember to always buckle up and drive safe.
