Starting this weekend (12/7), and continuing until New Year's day, multiple police departments in the state of New Jersey will be working overtime to operate DWI/DUI check points. Mercer County, Monmouth County, Atlantic City County, Camden County, and Somerset County are just a few amongst a bunch of the counties that will be conducting DWI checkpoints.

Many of the cities in these counties have been approved with grants to have police officers work overtime to make sure the roads are safe and every driver is sober while conducting a vehicle this holiday season. Other police departments have agreed to maintain their streets safety at their own expense (without using a grant).

The grants total more than $750,000. They'll be split up amongst the 21 counties for police officers to work the overtime.

Police officers aren't only taking care of the roads to make sure all drivers are sober, of course.

They are also making sure all of your packages get to you safe. More package theft prevention here.
