It feels so good to hear that stores are opening again soon and we get to go window shopping again. 6abc.com recently reported that the American department store, Macy's, is looking to open all of its 775 all over the country.

According to 6abc, Macy's is shooting to open the stores within the next 6 to 8 weeks but like many other stores, it has been mentioned that it won't open as normal. One of the biggest changes will be the make-up sampling and ear piercings will not be a thing anymore. We learned from 6abc that part of the new guidelines read, "Beauty colleagues may only use testers on face charts using single-use disposable applicators."

6abc shared some of the new rules that were released by Macy's CEO, Jeff Gennette, and here are some that stood out the most to us:

  • If a customer wants to test jewelry or watches you must use hand sanitizer.
  • You will no longer have the chance to try on undergarments or dress shirts.
  • Customers must request bottle samplers for fragrances.
  • There will no longer be make-up testing only allowed to see the items.

It was also mentioned that other alterations services have been suspended and all Macy's employees will be wearing masks that will be provided by the department store.

One thing that we have seen at different grocery stores or Walmarts is those clear glass pieces at cash registers, well, it was mentioned on 6abc.com that Macy's will be adding those to all of its check out locations.

Macy's is going state by state to open its stores and it doesn't look like the Garden State will be one of the first to open the department stores.
