According to The Sporting News, the Phillies sold at least 100,000 tickets in the 24 hours following the announcement that the team had signed this year's most sought-after free agent, Bryce Harper.

In addition, FoxBusiness.com reported that "secondary market" Phillies' tickets have gone up dramatically since the signing this year's most sought-after free agent, Bryce Harper.

The secondary market represents resale tickets that are sold on sites like StubHub, SeatGeek, and TickPickFoxBusiness spoke to a representative from TickPick who told them that the cheapest ticket available for the Phils' home opener versus the Atlanta Braves on March 28 prior to Harper's signing was $44.  A check of the site today shows that price has more than doubled with the cheapest tickets being priced at $92.

The cheapest tickets for the March 28 game is $87 on StubHub (an official partner of Major League Baseball).

According to baseball-reference.com, the Phillies' average attendance per game over the last 5 years was 25,268.  The team missed the playoffs during that stretch.  Meanwhile, average attendance between 2008-11, when the team made the playoffs, was 44,171.

Something tells us the team's attendance will surge for the 2019 season.
