Taylor Swift Fan Claims They Were Charged 14 Times for Tickets They Didn’t Even Get
A fan who was trying to purchase Taylor Swift tickets was allegedly charged 14 times — and she didn't even get the tickets.
Swift fans have been struggling with "The Great War" of getting tickets to the singer's upcoming The Eras Tour over the last couple days.
In a viral tweet, Twitter user @SydneySarah1 shared she waited all day on a virtual queue for tickets, after which she was allegedly charged 14 times despite not even successfully getting the concert tickets.
"Waited in line for @taylorswift13 tickets for 8 hours today. And @SeatGeek charged me 14+ times for tickets I was never able to purchase," she tweeted.
She added that her bank accounts are now "frozen, I’m broke, it overdrafted my accounts, and I did NOT get tickets."
The next day, she posted an update revealing that SeatGeek reached out to her about a refund, telling her there is "nothing to do but wait."
It appears it will take three to five business days for the charges to be removed from her accounts.
The news surrounding Swift's disastrous tour pre-sale comes as Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti launches an investigation into concert and event ticketing companies.
According to Bloomberg, in a press conference Skrmetti said that Ticketmaster controls more than 70 percent of the primary market for ticketing and live event venues, which has resulted in higher prices due to dynamic pricing.
However, as of publishing Ticketmaster and other similar sites have not officially been accused of any misconduct.
Since the announcement of The Eras Tour, there has been an unprecedented demand for tickets to see Swift live. It will be her first tour since 2018's Reputation Tour, which became the highest-grossing tour in the U.S. and North America.
