A veteran member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is telling the media that the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are going to be postponed. USA Today reports that the games are likely to be postponed to 2021, but the final details are still being worked out.

“The parameters going forward have not been determined, but the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know,” IOC member, Dick Pound, said in a phone interview, USAToday.com reports.

The decision had been expected for a while, but this is the first indication that they're officially moving the games.

Pound believes that the IOC will work on the massive undertaking of rescheduling the games within the next four weeks or so.

This is a developing story. We’ll have more details when they are made available.
