It's just about here!  Our annual Wiener Dog Race presented by Dogs & Cats Rule is happening at PST's Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 29 at Mercer County Park and you might think I'm crazy, but this is something has really become one of my favorite things about the summer.

If you've never seen our Wiener Dog Race, I think you'd be surprised at how fun it can be.  It's definitely not a serious competition and to be honest, many of the dogs don't even finish the race (which is part of the fun).

So what makes this event so great?  It's all about how cute the racers are.  Watching a Wiener Dog, aka Daschund, run is just funny.

According to the American Kennel Club, Daschund is the 12th most popular dog breed. They are described as having a "bold, vivacious personality."

At PST's Freedom Festival, we usually have 3-4 dogs compete in a series of preliminary races before the winners take part in the finale.  It's free to register and each dog that competes gets a free bag of food and the champion gets a 3 month supply of food courtesy of Dogs & Cats Rule.
