We Tried Chick-fil-A’s New Mac & Cheese
For the first time since 2016, Chick-fil-A has added a new side item to it's menu nationwide. Starting today, Chick-fil-A's are offering mac & cheese as a side option. Prior to adding mac & cheese, Chick-fil-A's side menu included waffle fries, chicken noodle soup, a side salad, a fruit cup, and a couple of other items.
Chick-fil-A says that their mac & cheese, which is baked in restaurant each day, features "a special blend of cheeses including cheddar, parmesan and Romano."
The mac & cheese is available in 2 sizes - small and medium. The small is 260 calories and contains 16g of fat, which is almost exactly the same amount of each in a small side of waffle fries. The medium mac & cheese is 440 calories with 27g of fat.
Enough of the stats, the real question is, "How does it taste?" I got a small order at the Chick-fil-A at Centerton Square in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Overall, it was very good. The combination of cheeses was tasty and there were a few burnt pieces in the mix, which I really like. It may not be homemade, but it definitely isn't out of a Kraft Macaroni & Cheese box.
In my opinion, I like both the mac & cheese at Wawa and at Boston Market better than this one, but, it is something I would definitely get again.
