Adopting a dog via Zoom is becoming a reality, according to Mashable.

Pedigree, the dog food brand, is in the process of setting up dog meet and greets with potential families on Zoom. That would certainly make the process easier while you're on lockdown due to coronavirus. We're all on Zoom a lot nowadays anyway, so, why not use it to add a pup to your family.

So how will this work? Click here to get started. You'll see a bunch of pictures of dogs...it says Dogs on Zoom. From there the website says you can "Give a dog a home without leaving yours." You'll be able to meet, ask questions, and hopefully adopt a new furry friend by video chatting. That's so 2020, isn't it? Lol.

I love this idea. It won't cost you a thing either. Pedigree will pay the adoption fee, yup, you read this right, the adoption will be absolutely free.

Right now, Pedigree is looking to get the dogs adopted at the Nashville Humane Association. There are Zoom meetings today (Tuesday, May 12th) and tomorrow (Wednesday, May 13th) at 5pm. If you're interested, you can sign up for one of the meeting here....and I guess you'd have to figure out how you're going to get the dog from Nashville. Hopefully, they'll partner with shelters in our area soon. Pedigree says they'll be reaching out to more shelters soon.

Adopting a dog can be very comforting during this scary time. I've noticed on social media that several of my friends and their families have adopted dogs recently. My family is lobbying me to get a dog too. Experts say having a dog can be great for your mental health. We'll see what the future holds.
