FAA: Flights Resume at Philly & NYC-Area Airports Following Temporary Coronavirus Staffing Issues
UPDATE: Flights have resumed at all airports previously affected by Saturday's temporary halting of flights.
Around 2 pm on Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had said they are suspending flights to the New York City area and Philadelphia airports because they’re having staffing issues, connected to the coronavirus pandemic.
Airport officials have told reporters, such as NBC10, that airport officials did not have enough protective gear for employees to protect themselves. TSA told the TV station that a shipment of masks was expected soon.
