If you were listening to Chris & The Crew this morning, you may have heard us mention that today is National Doughnut Day.

You may have also heard me mention that I love doughnuts of all varieties. I love glazed doughnuts (especially a hot glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme). I love a jelly donut from Dunkin'. I love doughnut holes and munchkins. I love a bear claw. And I really love a beaver tail.

By the way, if you don't know what a beaver tail is, Google it. Beaver tails are so good that I'd even consider making a special trip to Canada to get one. (And I'd also grab some poutine while I was there).

As you can tell, I have a passion for doughnuts. In addition to Krispy Kreme and Dunkin', I've tried Duck Donuts, Voodoo Donuts, doughnuts from Tim Horton's, Mickey Mouse-shaped doughnuts at Disney World, and more...and my favorite doughnuts of all may come from a place right here in New Jersey.

That place is JB Bakery, located on High Street in Burlington. According to JB's Facebook page, the bakery first opened in 1952 and was named for the original owners, John & Bill. The current owner is Burlington native Stephen Simon.

JB Bakery is a full-service bakery offering a variety of things like cakes, breads, pastries, cinnamon buns, scones, and cheesecakes, but my choice is almost always the doughnuts.

My favorites are the jelly-filled and the strawberry-frosted (which are usually sold out if I stop in after 2pm).

So there you have it, the best doughnuts in Burlington County (in my opinion) can be found at JB Bakery in Burlington. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments.
