Is NJ About to Get Its First Amazon Fresh Grocery Store?

You've heard about these new fancy-pants Amazon Fresh grocery stores right? The concept is so hip and futuristic, and honestly, a little strange when you first hear about it!

You walk into a grocery store, fill up your cart with whatever you want, and then you just walk out! No cashier, no waiting in line, not even a self-checkout. You just take your cart, peace out of there, and you're all good!

That's how Amazon Fresh works. And little by little they've been sprouting up across the country and internationally. Currently, there are a little more than 25 in the United States.

And now, according to NorthJersey.com, New Jersey is about to get its first one in Paramus! Located at 30 E. Ridgewood Ave., this will hold the previous space of Fairway Market. Signage on the door reads that Amazon Fresh will be arriving "Summer 2022."

How does Amazon Fresh work?

Amazon Fresh has a high-tech operating system. Customers use "dash carts" to place their selected items in. From there, the carts are able to scan and tally your items, and you'll be charged later through your Amazon account.They're even built with Amazon Alexa technology so you can ask the cart where to find something! Once you have everything you need, you just exit the store.

What kind of food will be sold?

Amazon Fresh promises "high-quality food and low prices you'll love." Pretty much anything you get at a regular grocery store, you can get here too. If you're thinking this will be similar to a Whole Foods store, since Amazon owns Whole Foods - not quite. Whole Foods is a lot more expensive and they don't sell mainstream products. At Amazon Fresh you'll be able to buy store brand and name brand items. Some stores even have "hot food" sections!

Also if you're looking for job, they're now hiring at the Paramus location!

I'm so eager to try one of these places, because I haaaate waiting in line at the grocery store. Places like this will make those grocery runs of yours a lot less tedious.
