It’s Official: ‘Queer Eye’ is Filming in Our Area
If you see Antoni, Tan, Karamo, Bobby or Jonathan wandering around the campus of Princeton University or eating a Philly cheesesteak at Dalessandro's in Manayunk, your eyes aren't deceiving you.
Yeah, Netflix confirmed that Queer Eye will begin filming its fifth season on June 24th in the Philadelphia region, according to reporting from the Philadelphia Inquirer. Yeah, so filming will begin on Monday.
Netflix teased the news in an Instagram post, where Flyers mascot, Gritty, makes a brief appearance:
The news isn’t too surprising since we told you back in April that fliers were seen around floating around town seeking nominations for casting. The fliers asked for suggestions on those in need of a life makeover from the modern day Fab Five.
At that time, they didn’t confirm or deny the rumors. It’s not clear if casting has been completed, but given productions schedules, it’s likely they’re no longer seeking nominees for that season.
However, it’s very likely that they’ll film episodes across the city (and throughout our area) for several weeks, so be on the lookout for the Fab Five as they make over those in need. Given the size of our area, of course, it's likely they'll wander into Bucks County or New Jersey at least once.
By the way, Netflix also announced that the show’s fourth season, which was filmed in Kansas City, will premiere on July 19.
