A warm, sunny day in Point Pleasant is the perfect way to enjoy the summer.

Start off the day listening to the waves crash on the beach while you sit in the sand, head on over to your favorite spot on the boardwalk for lunch, once the food settles you can enjoy the rides or Jenkinson’s Aquarium, truly a day well spent.

The fun doesn’t have to stop, though, when the sun goes down. For summer 2026, the Movies on the Beach series is coming back, showing a family-friendly film right there on the sand.

I have a bias toward this year’s lineup because it involves two of my all-time favorite movies of all time (Jaws and Jurassic Park), but I’ll get to the full list in a moment.

The series kicked off on June 23 and will be held on each Tuesday night through Sept. 1, 2026.

Movies are shown on Tuesday nights at dark on the beach right in front of Jenkinson’s Aquarium (300 Ocean Avenue Point Pleasant Beach, NJ), generally around 8:30 p.m., with start times gradually getting earlier as the summer progresses.

The oceanside location of Point Pleasant Beach has been a source of enjoyment for centuries.

The first permanent boardwalk was built in 1915 and in the late 1920’s, Orlo Jenkinson built Jenkinson’s Pavilion and Swimming Pool.

Over the past 100 years or so, the community has grown into a vibrant resort destination for state residents and tourists, alike.
